Accepted file types

The following file types for are accepted for upload into a task comment or uploaded via the Files tab of a task, task template, asset or asset model:

  1. pdf

  2. jpg

  3. jpeg

  4. png

  5. Excel

All other uploads must be in the prescribed format described on-screen. For example, when importing a list of assets, spare parts (materials), or events, a .csv or excel file may be required. Check the provided import templates for details.

Other file formats can be linked to from Maintainly. That is, if you have them stored in an alternate location, a link to them can be pasted into a task activity comment.

Maximum File Size

15MB is the maximum size for any single file being uploaded into Maintainly. For larger .pdf files, try reducing the file size using the editing capabilities of your PDF software. Failing that, try an online compression tool, such as Adobe's here.

Images

For image files, such as screenshots or photographs, the file should generally be kept in its original form, like a .jpeg or .png. It's not necessary, for example, to paste a photograph into a Word Document or export it to a PDF; the original file format can be maintained for upload.
