Two-factor authentication adds an additional layer of access protection, beyond just username and password, by requiring the user to know two different factors, like a password and a one-time passcode, in order to complete the login authentication.

All users have the option of enabling two-factor authentication to their accounts.

Enable two-factor authentication

To enable two-factor authentication, you will first require an authenticator app to be downloaded to your phone, such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or Salesforce Authenticator.

To enable two-factor authentication:

  1. Click the avatar menu located at the top right of the screen;

  2. Click Settings;

  3. Navigate to Security;

  4. If prompted, enter your password and click Submit;

  5. Under two-factor authentication, click Enable;

  6. Open the authenticator app on your phone, and click to add click the option to add a new login;

  7. Scan the QR code shown on-screen in Maintainly;

  8. Enter the one-time Code;

  9. Click Confirm.

  10. Click View, next to the recovery codes.

  11. Either take a photo of the codes or click the copy icon and paste the codes to a secure location. You may need these codes to perform a recovery if you lose access to the authenticator app in the future.
