What is a Task Template?

As the name suggests, a Task Template is a pre-defined set of task data (like task procedure and estimated work hours) that can then be used on a repetitive basis.

Creating task templates is the first stage of establishing preventative maintenance. At least one task template is required before an automation can be added to a specific asset that defines the trigger for when to auto-generate a task.

Task templates sit independent of any one asset or asset model, which means a single task template could be used on any asset when a suitable trigger generates automated preventative maintenance tasks.

Each task template can include the following:

  1. Estimated work hours - the total aggregated work hours of one or multiple technicians;

  2. Estimated downtime - the total aggregated downtime, if the organisation is choosing to track estimated vs. actual downtime;

  3. Procedure - steps to be followed or description of the work to be performed to complete the task including any reference images or pdf's.
