Bulk Tasks allow the same reactive task to be added once, and applied to multiple assets, rather than having to add it individually to each asset.
When creating a new bulk task, individual tasks are generated for each of the nominated assets, meaning that each task must be completed and then closed individually.
Add a bulk task
Bulk tasks can be added once, but applied to many assets. Creating a bulk task will create an individual reactive task on each of the nominated assets.
To add a bulk task:
Navigate to Tasks > Bulk Tasks
In the dropdown, select the site where the task will take place;
Click Confirm;
Nominate the details of the task, including the mandatory fields of Title and Work Type (if work types exist for your organsation) and Task Instruction (which could simply be a description of the issue), that will appear as the first comment in the task activity feed;
Click Save. The Assets tab will be enlivened;
Click the Assets tab;
Click Add assets;
Filter for and then check the box next to the applicable assets;
Click Confirm;
TIP: Additional details, such as assigning users, can be done after the individual tasks have been created via the tasks list view using a bulk action. Additional details cannot be added within the bulk task settings.
TIP: Although some fields are not mandatory when adding a task, some reporting advantages can be gained by consistently completing them. For example, using Estimated Work Hours and then requiring users to log their actual work hours in the task, allows you to report a comparison between estimated and actual work hours after the fact.
