Reactive tasks should be created as soon as an issue, or work requirement is identified so that all pending work can be managed and tracked effectively.
To create a reactive task:
Navigate to Tasks;
Click New task and filter to the appropriate asset;
Select the Site;
Select the most appropriate Asset from the asset hierarchy;
Click Confirm;
Nominate the details of the task, including the mandatory fields of Title and Work Type; Note: Work type is only mandatory if one or more work types exist.
Adding a Label to the task (via the labels icon to the right of the comment box) will help convey important information about this task to other users;
If more details are required now, such as the assignment of users, event codes, etc. click Save & Continue, otherwise click Save.
TIP: Although some fields are not mandatory when adding a task, some reporting advantages can be gained by consistently completing them. For example, using Estimated Work Hours allows you to report a comparison between estimated and actual work hours after the task has been completed.
