Which materials should be labelled?
When printing, the labelling method may depend on a number of factors.
Options include:
Label materials individually
Preferred if the material has existing packaging and is of a reasonable size
Makes it Easy to scan out in the field
Label the shelf location
Preferred for small and/or numerous materials (eg. a box of bolts)
QR label must be scanned before leaving the store (warehouse)
Requirements for printing QR labels locally
Maintainly QR labels can be printed locally, when and as required.
You will require a printer (any brand) specifically designed for printing labels, or make the necessary adjustments to the settings of a regular printer if printing to label sheets.
Here are some important guidelines for printing QR labels locally:
Each label is specific to a material. Duplicate labels should never be used on multiple different materials.
If you experience minor sizing and alignment issues, the 'scale to fit' printer setting may help.
